The social welfare office as part of the municipal administration provides the Chemnitzer inhabitants social support for a variety of situations: Financial Services on a legal basis and personal assistance, social services are provided competently and promptly after appropriate counselling. Social Services which does not provide the social services themselves are financially wholly or partly offered and promoted by private agencies  (f.e. clubs, churches, welfare organizations) on the basis of a funding policy by the municipality. The Social Services report  regularly about the social situation in the city of Chemnitz. Support services are evaluated and planned or designed in the medium term.
