Hospital Chemnitz

If you as an asylum seeker become ill during your stay in Chemnitz, you can go to this medical practice for out-patient treatment.
There are several doctors in this practice, in particular one specialising in children.
The doctors:

  • examine and treat patients with acute illnesses of pain
  • prescribe medicines, bandages and other aid to support recovery
  • attempt with special examinations to prevent the development of new illnesses (prevention).

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PREPARE AND BRING WITH YOU FOR TREATMENT AT THE PRACTICE?
- You need a medical treatment voucher. If you live as an asylum seeker in the Initial Reception Centre (Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung), you will get this voucher there. If not, then please apply to the Welfare Office (Sozialamt).
- You or your social worker must telephone in advance and arrange an appointment (tel. 0371 3333 3938) (Important: Please come punctually to your appointment. In Germany it is considered rude to come late to an appointment because it hinders good time planning.)
- For all languages – except Arabic – you will need an interpreter or translator.
- Please bring with you all your registration documents (identity card with photograph) or all the documents with your ZAB number or reference number of your registration on them.
